2 dead after dense fog triggers deadly chain of road accidents in Punjab

Dense fog in Punjab on Friday morning led to multiple accidents, causing the death of two individuals in Barnala and Sangrur districts. Low visibility resulted in a collision involving five vehicles on the Barnala-Ludhiana road, leading to one fatality and multiple injuries. Additionally, a bus-truck collision and another bus-related incident claimed further lives.

BATHINDA: A number of accidents occurred in Punjab on Friday morning after dense fog engulfed the region. Two people died in two different accidents in the districts of Barnala and Sangrur.
In one of the accidents at Wazidke village in the district of Barnala on the Barnala-Ludhiana road, five vehicles rammed into each other due to low visibility. According to information, a tractor trailer loaded with bricks entered the main road from a link road.
It collided with a PRTC bus coming from the Barnala side. An autorickshaw and a car stopped at the accident site to help the bus passengers, but in no time, a truck hit the auto, the car, and then the bus. Anupriya Kaur from Sherpur village died in the accident, while nearly 10 people sustained injuries.
A bus and a truck collided due to fog on the Barnala-Sangrur road, resulting in the death of one passenger.
In yet another accident, a woman identified as Soni Devi was killed after she was hit by a bus at Abohar.
