Chandigarh: The Western Command of the Border Security Force (BSF) organised an investiture ceremony on Wednesday at the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Mohali, to felicitate serving and retired
BSF personnel with police medals for meritorious service.
During the event, a total of 37 officers, subordinate officers, and other ranks, including retired BSF personnel, were bestowed with the medals. Gulab Chand Kataria, governor of Punjab and administrator of Chandigarh, was the chief guest on this occasion. Satish S Khandare, IPS, ADG BSF Western Command, welcomed the chief guest and other esteemed dignitaries present at the function. He informed the audience about the glorious past of the BSF and paid tribute to the martyrs who laid down their lives in the line of duty.
The police medal for meritorious service is awarded to those Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) and state police personnel who have devoted more than 18 years of outstanding and unblemished service to the nation. This was the third time this ceremony was organised in
