Chandigarh: Punjab Congress president Amrinder Singh Raja Warring on Sunday criticised AAP convener and Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, saying that the latter was espousing Hindutva and trying to outdo the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in communal and sectarian politics. He said Kejriwal’s behaviour went against the soul and spirit of Punjabiyat.
Reacting to Kejriwal’s demand for Uniform Civil Code, Warring said it seemed Kejriwal was trying to replace PM Modi.

He added the code was a cause of concern for the minorities living in the country, particularly Punjab.
The MLA from Gidderbaha seat said Kejriwal had already suggested that pictures of Goddess Laxmi and Lord Ganesha be printed on currency notes. He asked AAP leaders in Punjab to clarify their position on Kejriwal’s latest statement. “You owe it to three crore Punjabis as they are worried and concerned about Kejriwal’s outright and blatant support for the Hindutva agenda,” Warring told AAP leaders. He also warned AAP leaders that Punjabis will never forgive them for such betrayal. tnn
