After spat, married couple kill themselves

New Delhi: A married couple died by suicide at separate locations in Ghaziabad and northeast Delhi's Jyoti Nagar on Friday following a domestic dispute. The wife's body was found in a vacant plot in Jyoti Nagar, while her husband's body was found in Ghaziabad.
On Friday, police received information about the woman's body in a vacant plot near Loni Roundabout. A team from the local police station rushed to the scene. They found the mobile phone of the woman, around 30 years old, in her pocket. It was switched off. "After switching it on, investigators were able to make calls and identify the woman, a resident of Loni border in Uttar Pradesh," police said.
A senior police officer said that when they contacted the station house officer of Loni Police Station, they came to know that the woman's husband also took his own life at their residence earlier that day. The couple reportedly quarrelled, prompting the woman to leave home.
Police reported no other injuries on the woman's body. A crime scene investigation and forensic analysis were conducted, and further inquest proceedings are ongoing.
