BJP and AAP accuse each other of unethical practices
New Delhi: With Delhi elections getting closer, both BJP and AAP have accused each other of unethical poll practices.
On Sunday, BJP national spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia accused AAP MLA from Tughlaqabad of corruption, "alleging a quid pro quo in exchange for introducing a robotics course in Delhi government schools." Bhatia presented a purported sting video, claiming it showed an associate of the MLA accepting cash for introducing kits costing Rs 1,500-2,200 for students.
"What transpires here is that Gaurav Bhati, associate of the MLA, is taking cash. There is quid pro quo. The money was paid in return for introducing kits for a robotics course to be launched in Delhi govt schools, charging the students Rs 1,500-Rs 2,200. The sting shows the cash accepted by MLA Sahiram's secretary in his name," he said.
In response, AAP dismissed the allegations, accusing the BJP of focusing on a blame game and attempting to defame AAP leaders. The party stated that the BJP has no issues to present in the Delhi Assembly elections and will face a lesson from the people on Feb 5.
AAP also released a video alleging that BJP's New Delhi candidate, Parvesh Verma, was behind the vandalism of their campaign vehicle. The purported video showed two men damaging campaign materials.
A Verma aide dismissed the allegations, claiming, "The Balmiki community and the Dalit community made an announcement by holding a Maha Panchayat to totally boycott Kejriwal. Kejriwal is rattled and making such excuses. People are now united against lies, corruption, and breach of promises by Kejriwal." TNN
