PANAJI: Starting from the academic year 2023-24, the Goa University will be offering two new programmes, a two-year MSc in artificial intelligence course and a MSc in data science programme. The varsity has said that an entrance test will be held for admission to the programmes. There will be 20 seats on offer in each course.
The GU has said that an annual fee of around Rs 20,000 will be charged for the programmes.
The two MSc programmes are being offered under the Goa Business School.
Students submit applications for entry up to June 23.
“After scrutiny of the applications received, a list of candidates who will have to appear for the entrance test will be made available on the University website. Based on the performance in the entrance test for admission to the MSc artificial intelligence and MSc in data science programme, the list of candidates selected for admission will be displayed on the Goa University website,” GU has said.
Students either with a bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer applications, engineering in computer science or IT or with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics or electronics are eligible to vie for the MSc in artificial intelligence and MSc in data science.
“Such candidates shall be provisionally admitted until successful completion of bridge courses recommended to the students on a case-to-case basis by the respective mentors assigned to them at the time of admission to the programme and approved by the Computer Science and Technology Discipline Council,” Goa University has said.
The entrance test paper will consist of 50 multiple choice questions which will test students in mathematics, analytical ability & logical reasoning and on basic concepts of AI or data science, based on the programme the student is applying for.
The duration of the test will be 90 minutes.
