Amit Shah is likely to address the North Eastern Council (NEC) plenary session here on Dec 21.
Governors and chief ministers of the eight northeastern states will be in attendance at the two-day sesssion set to begin from Dec 20 to discuss sector-specific plans of development. DoNER minister Jyotiraditya Scindia is also likely to attend the programme.
The plenary will highlight the pressing issues of the northeast, including border and development projects of the region, and also showcase the work done in Tripura.
On the sidelines of the event, Shah is scheduled to meet the BJP brass to discuss the party's reorganisation.
Initially scheduled to be held from Aug 31-Sept 1, the NEC plenary had to be postponed due to the devastating floods in Tripura.
