Army’s demo at sabha session attracts huge gathering
Guwahati: For the first time in the history of Asam Sahitya Sabha, Indian Army demonstrated its advanced weaponry, military equipment and high-tech drones, unveiling the futuristic face of Indian warriors and a glimpse into modernization in the ongoing 77th biennial session of the largest literary body in Assam's Bajali district.
"The event of the Gajraj Corps of Indian Army, at the sabha session, attracted a huge gathering of students, teachers and women, enthralled by the Army's impressive technological capabilities and their strong dedication to safeguarding nations security and interest," the Army said in a statement.
Lt Col. Mahendra Rawat, PRO Deffence, Guwahati, said, "Recognising the need to provide structured guidance to aspiring young individuals, the Indian army has launched this initiative. It aims to clarify career paths, selection processes and the core values of military service, bridging the information gap and inspiring more young people to consider a career in the armed forces." He further added that the future programme of the Indian Army may include enhanced career counselling, outreach in schools and colleges, specialised training camps and improved digital platform for information access.
"With the expert guidance on eligibility, selection and career strategies, the initiative was aimed at nurturing the aspirations of those who are eager to serve the nation with honour and courage. Through every engagement the Indian Army encourages and mentors the next generation," the statement read.
The 77th session of the Asam Sahitya Sabha is underway at the Bhattadev Kshetra in Pathsala in Assam's Bajali district. It started on Friday and will conclude on Tuesday.
