Arunachal Raj Bhavan celebrates statehood days of Assam, J’khand, Nagaland
Itanagar: Upholding the tradition of celebrating the statehood days of other states, the Arunachal Pradesh Raj Bhavan on Monday marked the foundation days of Assam, Jharkhand, and Nagaland on Monday.
Interacting with participants from the three states serving in Arunachal Pradesh, the governor said the celebration, organised with the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat', is one of the best and most innovative programmes initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
"The programme promotes goodwill and amity and strengthens the spirit of unity amongst the people," Parnaik said.
He said these celebrations provide a platform for people serving in Arunachal Pradesh to showcase their cultural heritage and, at the same time, give exposure to the people of the state to see the cultural diversity of the nation. He called for more participation and regular observation of these events.
Parnaik expressed gratitude to the people from other states for their contributions to the developmental progress of Arunachal Pradesh.
"All Arunachalese acknowledge their contributions and hold their association in high esteem," he said.
On this special occasion, Parnaik highlighted the rich history, involvement in the freedom movement, revitalisation of social reforms, and contributions towards nation-building of the states of Assam, Jharkhand, and Nagaland. He remembered Lachit Borphukan and Birsa Munda, among many others, along with the specialties of each state.

The enthusiastic participants from the three states presented the Bhor Tal Dance, Ras Nritya, and Bihu of Assam, Jhumar dance of Jharkhand, and the folk song of Nagaland.
Students from Oju Mission School participated in the event as special guests of the governor.
Later, the governor and his wife interacted with the participants over high tea. They shared their experiences with the governor and thanked him for organising the event. The participants also expressed their gratitude to the state and its people for maintaining brotherhood and camaraderie.
As a token of goodwill and promoting Assamese culture, the Assam representatives presented ‘Pitha' to the participants and special guests during the high tea.
