Fake currency notes seized in Mizoram, 2 held

AIZAWL: Mizoram Police seized counterfeit Indian currency notes of a total face value of Rs 25.2 lakh late Tuesday night and arrested two persons, chief public relations officer and IGP John Neihlaia said on Wednesday.
"Acting on a specific input, a team of CID (SB) seized counterfeit currency notes of a total face value Rs 25,20,000 from the joint possession of Laltanpui (42) and Lallungmuana (40) on the Mizoram-Assam border at Vairengte," Neihlaia said.
Probe is on by Vairengte Police for further linkages.
The accused were produced before a local court, which remanded them in judicial custody.
