CM Himanta Biswa Sarma: Four infiltrators from Bangladesh pushed back

Four Bangladeshi nationals were apprehended and sent back by Assam police as they attempted to enter India illegally. This action is part of the heightened security measures along the India-Bangladesh border after unrest in Bangladesh. Over 210 unauthorized entrants have been deported from Assam during this period.

GUWAHATI: Four Bangladeshis, who were trying to enter India illegally, were sent back by Assam police, as confirmed by chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. The location from which these people were deported was not disclosed by the authorities.

"Zero Tolerance for Illegal Infiltration. Under strict vigil along the international border, four Bangladeshi nationals were apprehended by @assampolice near the border and pushed back," Sarma said in a post on X on Monday.
The four people were identified as Md. Habil, Md. Jakariya, Md. Naim and Md. Aliul SK.

Following unrest in Bangladesh last year, security has been strengthened along the 1885 km-long India-Bangladesh border in the North.
More than 210 unauthorised entrants have been deported from Assam during this period.
