Man detained with Yaba tabs worth Rs60L from Agartala railway station
Agartala: Railway Protection Force (RPF) on Wednesday seized a consignment of Yaba tablets worth Rs 60 lakh and detained a man at Agartala Railway Station.
The accused, identified as Habibul Rehman, a resident of Tripura's Gomati district, was traveling to Agartala by Lokmanya Tilak Express from Mumbai, said assistant commandant of RPF B K Sinha.
During an RPF check of the train, they found a suspicious person when the train reached Jirania station, about 15km ahead of Agartala.
"When we asked him about the luggage he was carrying, he failed to give a proper reply. Upon searching him based on suspicion, we seized around 200 packets of Yaba tablets," Sinha said.
Habibul claimed he was coming from Silchar and had boarded the train at Badarpur. He said someone had handed him the bag at Badarpur to deliver it in Agartala," Sinha added.
