AIZAWL: Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Zodintluanga Ralte, who had resigned as treasurer of the
Mizoram Pradesh Congress Committee (
MPCC), was appointed as general secretary of the state PCC on Monday. However, the appointment order was cancelled the same day as Ralte turned down the offer.
Ralte submitted his resignation as PCC treasurer (one of the three elected office bearers) on April 21 to the state PCC president Lalsawta, which was accepted on May 1.
"I cancelled the appointment order after he asked me to withdraw the appointment," the state PCC president said.
Ralte (61) said it was humiliating to appoint him as the general secretary while he had already resigned as MPCC treasurer. "I called up the president and asked him to cancel the appointment," Ralte told TOI.
In his resignation letter, Ralte accused Lalsawta of functioning as a dictator without consulting important committees while making important decisions.
