Verification of identity cards has been made mandatory for those who want to stay in the city-based hotels during the Puja days. The police will take legal action against the hotel owners who would allow the people to check-in without verifying their identity cards.
CCTV cameras will be installed in all the strategic locations of all the important towns to keep close surveillance during the festive days.
Besides, a few big Puja organizers have also been asked to make proper security arrangements to monitor the crowd in and around the pandals. Metal detectors will be placed at the entry points.
