Revanth is misusing ACB against me: KTR
Hyderabad: Taking strong objection to summoning him in the Formula E case where the Telangana high court's verdict was pending, BRS working president KT Rama Rao accused chief minister A Revanth Reddy of orchestrating an Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) probe to distract people from the Congress govt's failures.
Speaking to the media, KTR alleged that Revanth Reddy was attempting to impose his own unconstitutional practices in Telangana. He said the state govt was infringing on his rights and criticised the authorities for barring his legal team from accompanying him, demanding a written explanation if such support was prohibited.
He further alleged a conspiracy to plant illegal items in his residence as part of a politically motivated agenda.
The BRS working president said the ACB inquiry was an attempt to divert public attention from the Congress govt's unfulfilled promises and its "betrayal" of farmers, especially under Rythu Bharosa scheme. He reaffirmed his commitment to holding the Congress govt accountable for its "420 promises" and said that intimidation tactics would not deter him from pursuing justice for the people.
BRS general secretary and legal cell incharge Soma Bharat said that under Article 21 of the Constitution taking the help of a lawyer during questioning was a legal right, which cannot be denied by the ACB. KTR informed the ACB that all the documents were available with the govt, he said.
He said KTR was implicated in another case by claiming that BRS leader Patnam Narender Reddy had mentioned his name, which was not correct, Bharat said.
