Mhow: A 22-year-old final-year MBA student from a college in Indore died after she fell from the highest point at Jogibhadak waterfall in Dhar district while posing for a picture on Sunday afternoon.
Dhamnod police station in charge Santosh Dudhi said, "Ritika Shukla, a student at Devi Ahilya Vishwavidhyalaya, Indore,and a native of Anuppur, had gone for a picnic and adventure activities at Jogibhadak waterfall on Sunday. She was part of a 40-member group of students from various colleges in Indore which was taken to the picnic spot by an adventure activity organising group.
Eyewitnesses and her group members said that she went close to the point, where the water of the Karam River falls. While posing for a picture she slipped and fell into a nearly 600-foot-deep gorge. She received multiple injuries after falling from such a height and suffered a severe head injury, resulting in excessive blood loss.
"Police, with the help of local villagers, recovered her body and sent to community health centre in Dhamnod. Her parents were informed about the incident," Dudhi said.
