Itanagar: Governor KT Parnaik Thursday urged the people of the state to nurture and preserve their rich cultural heritage, ensuring its vibrancy for future generations.
Speaking at the valediction function of the international theatre festival of Arunachal Pradesh, ‘Arunachal Rang Mahotsav 2024’, held at Indira Gandhi Park here, Parnaik called for making the festival the beginning of a cultural renaissance in the state, fostering a tradition that bridges local and global, traditional and contemporary cultures.
The festival, which began on Nov 22, culminated after a fortnight of diverse national and international performances. The governor highlighted the event as the longest and largest theatre festival in the northeast, marking the state’s first international theatre festival.
With over 33 performances, the festival offered unique narratives and fresh perspectives, emphasising theatre’s power to transcend borders and unite humanity. “Theatre is the soul of the country, and its people, and it serves as the best medium to convey contemporary social messages,” he said.
