JAIPUR: Chief Minister
Ashok Gehlot on Wednesday claimed that
Rajasthan has the best record of action being taken against corruption in the country and refused to talk on the corruption issue raised by his former deputy, Sachin Pilot. The CM also announced that "anti-inflation camps" would be organised across the state starting April 24.
Speaking at a news conference, Gehlot said many IPS and IAS officers have been arrested by Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in the state.
He hastened to add that if ACB acts on every complaint, it will generate a "negative perception".
Gehlot sidestepped questions about his party colleague Sachin Pilot's protest on the issue of corruption and said his government's focus was on easing inflation and that nothing else is going to distract him from it.
"My aim is Mission 2030, and easing inflation is the first step towards it. I am not bothered about who is doing what. Our aim is to ease inflation. This is our only focus, and we are not going to deviate from it," said Gehlot. Under Mission 2030, the state government's aim is to make Rajasthan the top state by 2030, he added.
Gehlot said camps for relief from inflation would be launched on April 24 across the state and that people can register by using their Jan Aadhaar or Aadhaar cards so as to avail themselves of the benefits of the selected ten flagship schemes. Registration would help people get the benefits of all eligible schemes if they are currently getting the benefit of only one or two schemes, he said.
Initially 700 camps would be set up, and the number would be raised to 2,700, he said. All the camps would be IT enabled, added the CM.
