JAIPUR: Contractual healthcare workers who worked tirelessly through the Covid-19 pandemic will be given bonus marks in recruitment of permanent staff by the health department.
The state government has also increased the sanctioned posts for recruitment by thrice compared to the earlier advertisement, which will be cancelled and a fresh advertisement issued soon, officals said on Thursday.
The health department is recruiting nursing officers, pharmacists, women health workers, assistant radiographers and lab technicians.
A total of 6,523 posts were advertised earlier but now the posts have been increased to 18,112. These include new posts of ECG technician, dental technician, and ophthalmology assistant.
"The state government has decided to give 15%, 20% and 30% bonus marks in recruitment to the contractual staff who have worked during the Covid-19 pandemic. For one year of work they will get 15% extra marks, for 2 years 20% more, and for three years 30% more," said Suresh Nawal, director (non-gazetted), health department.
The health department has roped in the State Institute of Health & Family Welfare (SIHFW) for the recruitment of healthcare staff. The recruitment will not be through written exams but will be done on the basis of marks secured in education and work experience.
Since the recruitment process started five-six months ago, many have already applied. The health department said that a fresh advertisement will be issued soon and the process of recruitment will be speeded up.
