JAMMU: A female devotee was killed while 21 passengers from
Rajasthan were injured after a bus they were travelling in, overturned in Moori area of Katra on Sunday.
"The bus was on its way towards Jammu from Katra when it turned turtle near Moori," said police. "The bus was carrying pilgrims from Rajasthan who were heading back after paying obeisance at the Holy Cave of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Ji Shrine."
Police have ruled out any terror angle in the incident.
Police and locals rushed the injured to nearby hospitals in CHC Katra.
"The deceased has been identified as Nitika (27) wife of Manoj Kumar resident of Jaipur. Among the injured passengers, 13 have been referred to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) Jammu for advanced treatment,” police said.
Earlier in a similar mishap two people including a boy were killed and 19 others injured, when a bus carrying pilgrims to Shiv Khori temple skidded off the road near Taryath in Ransu of Reasi district and plunged into a gorge on February 18, 2023.
