2 kids fleeing pack of dogs run over by goods train in Jodhpur

JODHPUR: A goods train crushed two school children trying to flee a pack of dogs in Banar area of Jodhpur in Rajasthan on Friday. According to police, Ananya Kanwar (9) and Yuvraj Singh (11), who were cousins, were among a group of children walking back home from school, when the pet dogs from a house on the way started chasing them.
The frightened children started running helter-skelter and mounted the railway tracks.

Ananya and Yuvraj were run over by the train barely a few metres from Banad Cantt station, police said.
Family members and others from the neighbourhood staged a protest and refused to accept the bodies till the dogs were caught. Police rushed to the spot and called the dog squad of the municipal corporation, which apprehended the pet dogs, owned by one Omprakash Rathi.
