In Rajasthan, woman accuses man of marriage, conversion by deception

A woman accused a person of rape in the name of marriage, converting her religion after a court marriage. The accused had a Nikah ceremony with a maulvi, changing her name. The woman filed a report at Pratap Nagar Sadar police station. Investigating officer Satish Kumar is leading the investigation with the victim's medical examination.

JODHPUR: A woman has accused a person of raping her in the name of marriage and converting her religion after getting married in court. The accused allegedly first married the woman in the court and then had a Nikah ceremony by a maulvi, changing her religion and name.
The woman has filed a report against the accused at the Pratap Nagar Sadar police station on Saturday.

Following the report, the police conducted a medical examination of the victim and are investigating her allegations.
According to information received from the police, the woman, accompanied by her family, filed a case against a man for rape, deception leading to marriage and forced religious conversion. The victim reported that she and the accused became friends through chatting on Instagram and subsequently started meeting in person. About five months ago, the accused deceptively raped her on the pretext of marriage soon.
The victim stated in her complaint that the accused called her on June 5 for marriage and they got married in court. "After that, a maulvi conducted their Nikah in a garden outside the court and her name was changed according to that religion," she alleged in her complaint. When the woman returned home and informed her family about the incident, they took her to the police station.
Investigating officer Satish Kumar said that a case has been registered, and an investigation into the allegations is underway.
He said that the the victim's medical examination has been done and her statements recorded. tnn
