One killed, 22 injured as bus rams into truck

Kanpur: One person was killed while 22 others were injured after a bus carrying pilgrims collided with a truck parked near Bara toll plaza on the highway in Akbarpur Kotwali area of Kanpur Dehat on Sunday morning.
The pilgrims were heading to Rajasthan after attending the Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj and visiting Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
"As the bus reached near Bara toll plaza in Akbarpur Kotwali area, the driver dozed off, causing the bus to lose control and hit a truck parked on the highway," a police officer said. The injured people were taken to the district hospital where one of them, Hemraj (50), a resident of Juna Mera Chittorgarh, Rajasthan, was pronounced dead.
Circle officer (CO) Priya Singh said the injured people had been admitted to the hospital and their families were being contacted.
