Kochi: District collector Renu Raj has directed respective departments to complete their works allotted for the current financial year. The collector was speaking at the district development committee meeting on Saturday.
The departments which are lagging behind have been asked to speed up the work. Many offices under various departments including public works and
Kerala water authority have almost utilized 100% of the amount for the works allotted this year.
Meanwhile, the collector asked all government staff to submit ration cards to their department heads in order to ensure they do not possess BPL and AAY cards. If any government staff is found to be possessing these cards, the respective department heads should hand over the details of the staff to supply office.
Perumbavoor MLA Eldhose Kunnappilly said options like setting up of industrial park on the land owned by Travancore Rayons should be explored. He also called for conducting survey to ascertain the Poramboke land along Aluva-Munnar Road, Perumbavoor-Koovappady and high range highway.
District planning officer P A Fathima, officials from various departments and MLAs attended the meeting where various issues in the respective assembly constituencies were raised. Officials gave the details of measures taken by them to address local level issues.
