Kolhapur: Higher and technical education minister Chandrakant Patil on Saturday said despite the opposition's brief success in the 2023 Lok Sabha election, fuelled by a "fake narrative", BJP's winning streak has continued unabated, as seen in Haryana, Maharashtra and now in Delhi assembly polls, demonstrating the popularity of PM Narendra Modi.
Patil was in the city to inaugurate a new subway connecting the main building of SUK to its eastern departments like the department of technology and agriculture.

This underground passageway would provide a safe route for students, teachers and staff, eliminating the need to cross the busy old Pune-Bengaluru highway.
Addressing the media after the inauguration, the minister said, "The trust in PM Modi has increased among people because of his work, first as the chief minister of Gujarat for 15 years, and then as the PM from 2014. After last year's Lok Sabha election, the opposition parties started feeling that Modi ‘magic' was waning, but they must know that it is continuing and will never end. The common man has trust in Modi's leadership."
Patil said the opposition would now start blaming EVMs. "On Friday, (leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha) Rahul Gandhi held a press conference and blamed the Election Commission of India. People are fed up now hearing the same old things. If Congress wins in Karnataka, EVMs are good. If NDA's tally in Lok Sabha goes down, EVMs are good. But if they lose, the same EVMs become prone to manipulation."
Speaking over Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut's claims that if Congress and AAP had contested together, the Delhi election outcome would have been different, the minister said, "Raut is a great leader. He could have brought Congress and AAP together if he wanted. Sena (UBT) supported AAP in Delhi elections, and this highlights that not everything is alright in their alliance. I guess Congress will exit from the INDIA bloc."
SUK vice-chancellor Dr D T Shirke, pro-VC Dr Pramod Patil, registrar Dr Vilas Shinde, director of examination and evaluation department Dr Ajitsinha Jadhav, among other officials, and students were present.
