LUCKNOW: CM Yogi Adityanath hit out at the Congress, accusing it of adopting discriminatory practices while giving compensation. "It crossed all limits of appeasement," he said.
Addressing election rallies in
Rajasthan, Yogi said that while the family of Kanhaiyya Lal -- a tailor who was allegedly murdered by two Muslim youth in Udaipur in June 2022 -- was given a compensation of Rs 5 lakh, the Muslims who died in Jaipur after colliding with a motorcycle, were given Rs 20 lakh each.
"Had the BJP government been in power, innocent people like Kanhaiya Lal would not have been killed," Yogi said. The UP CM addressed five rallies covering eight assembly seats of the poll-bound state.
Adityanath asserted that Hindu temples faced destruction and symbols of subjugation were erected during the Mughal era. "A disputed structure was built by demolishing the Ram temple in Ayodhya. When we protested, the Congress government committed atrocities on us," he charged.
He also criticized the Congress leaders for remaining absent during crises like floods, heavy rain, or the pandemic.
Yogi categorically lauded Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla for personally overseeing the distribution of relief materials during extreme rainfall in Rajasthan.
Lauding the inspirational life and sacrifices of the courageous women of Rajasthan, Yogi said that the nation drew strength from their stories. He also commended the unwavering bravery of Indian soldiers who safeguarded the country's borders.
Stressing that a transformative shift was taking place in Rajasthan, Yogi said that while development took place during the previous Vasundhara Raje government, the Congress government led by CM Ashok Gehlot remained embroiled in internal conflicts, eventually hindering progress.
Stating that earlier, the mafia had a python-like grip, Yogi said that his government used bulldozers to address the issue.
Seeking public support for Pushkar MLA and BJP candidate Suresh Singh Rawat, the CM expressed gratitude and said that "Yogis like him" receive blessings on visiting pilgrimage sites.
He also invoked the famous Ajmer king, Prithviraj Chauhan who defeated Mohammad Ghori 17 times. "But a small mistake made Chauhan a hostage," Yogi said. "I hope the people of Pushkar will not repeat any such mistakes," he said. Yogi acknowledged the developmental work carried out during Vasundhara Raje tenure for the revival of the sacred lake in Pushkar.
Yogi concluded his last public meeting in Kishangarh, urging voters to support BJP candidate Bhagirath Chaudhary. He said that if BJP wins, Congress' mafia rule will be bulldozed in Rajasthan as well.
