Quack arrested in Madurai

Madurai: Police arrested a 56-year-old woman in Madurai for providing treatment to patients without proper medical educational qualifications. She was booked under Indian Medical Council Act.
Health officials inspected Erosa Clinic at Arasaradi and found that Arockyarani of TP Road was posing as a doctor and practising allopathy medicine without any educational qualifications.
Based on a complaint from joint director of health services Dr Selvaraj, SS Colony police booked Arockyarani under sections 318 (4), 319 (2), 125 of BNS and Section 15 (3)(2) of Indian Medical Council Act, including for cheating, endangering lives, and practising medicine without any registration, and arrested her. She was remanded in judicial custody.
