Chain-snatcher arrested, jewellery worth ₹45k seized

Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada police have arrested an accused, who snatched a gold chain from a woman from Baithadka in Jalsoor, Sullia.
Complainant Kamala Adyar, 64, had stated that an unknown person had reached her house and asked for drinking water, after which he snatched the gold chain from her on November 28. A police team arrested accused Saleem PA, 34, a resident of Kanhangad in Kerala, from Kotyadi in Delampadi village of Kasaragod, on Thursday.The police seized the gold chain worth Rs 45,000 and a two-wheeler worth Rs 50,000 from the accused. The court remanded the accused in judicial custody. tnn
