Kumbha Mela to begin with ‘ankurarpane’ tomorrow

Mysuru: A three-day 13th Kumbha Mela, organised jointly by the district administration and Kumbha Mela Celebration Committee, will be held from Feb 10 at Triveni Sangama, the confluence of the Cauvery, Kapila, and mythical Spatika Sarovara in T Narasipura town.
The celebrations will begin with the ankurarpane and dhwajarohan programme on Feb 10 at 8am at Agastheswara Temple.
State social welfare and district minister HC Mahadevappa will inaugurate the event. Deputy chief minister DK Shivakumar and Union minister of steel and major industries HD Kumaraswamy will be the chief guests. Chief minister Siddaramaiah will preside.
Leader of opposition R Ashok, ministers Venkatesh and Ramalinga Reddy, MPs Yadveer, Sunil Bose, and all MLAs and MLCs of the district will also take part.
The religious event will be held on Feb 12 at noon, in which CM Siddaramaiah, Union minister HD Kumaraswamy, ministers Mahadevappa, Venkatesh, and MB Patil will take part. Home minister G Parameshwara will also participate on the concluding day on Feb 12.
