Wardha: A mutilated and decomposed body of a missing man was found in the forest area near Upper Wardha Dam, along the Ashti-Morshi road on Saturday.
Chandrashekhar Shende, a forest department beat guard, found the body when he was heading into the jungle. Near the roadside, he noticed a human skull along with a severed hand. He also found a headless and decomposed torso hidden in the bushes.
Suspecting foul play, he immediately informed the forest department and Ashti police.

A team led by police officer Mangesh Bhoyar, sub-inspector Gajanan Bawane and other officials, including Vinayak Ghavat, Suraj Rathod, Ashwin Chavan, Vishnu Kaluse, Nandkishor Wadhve, Vikas Choudhary, Ram Gaikwad, and Digambar Ganeshpure, reached the site and took charge of the body.
After nearly two hours of investigation, the deceased was identified as Durgadas Pandurang Nehare (27), a resident of Maiwadi, Morshi tehsil of Amravati district.
He had been reported missing for the past few days. Ashti police have registered a case and initiated further investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
