NAGPUR: Chief minister
Eknath Shinde on Saturday said Ajit Pawar was forced to part ways with his uncle
Sharad Pawar due to “injustice meted out to him over the years”. Shinde also assured full support of BJP and
Shiv Sena to Ajit in his fight (against
NCP faction led by Sharad Pawar).
For the first time after the split in NCP and his appointment as deputy CM, Ajit shared dais with Shinde and deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis, at a government function held in Gadchiroli on Saturday.
While addressing the beneficiaries of ‘Shasan Aplya Dari (government at your doorstep)’ scheme, Shinde also said that his legislators have welcomed Ajit Pawar and are looking forward to work with him. The statement comes amid reports of legislators of Shiv Sena (Shinde group) being upset over NCP joining the state government.
Shinde appealed to Ajit to speak out in public what he had been through in NCP (while working under Pawar) all these years. “I too had faced similar distressing experience (under Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray). Let everyone know your sufferings and let the truth come out. Already, many (from the NCP) have become apprehensive after MP Praful Patel announced to pen a book on his experiences in the party,” said Shinde.
Applauding Ajit for his hold over administration and pace of work, the CM said that the triple engine government will now work at a rapid pace to ensure
Maharashtra’s overall development.
“Dada realized how backstabbing hurts and, therefore, he joined us to work under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi. Ajit means one who cannot be defeated, and his victory is certain. You have proved yourself as an able administrator through hard work and dedication. Now, you do not worry. With your vast experience and that of Fadnavis as CM for five years, we will ensure prosperity in the state,” the CM said.
