Nashik: State education minister Dada Bhuse on Saturday said the education system should only be student-centric and hence all other additional work of teachers has to go. Govt is thinking on it, he said.
The minister was addressing teachers on Saturday at Igatpuri during a programme organised for the ‘Adarsh Shikshak' across the state, where the teachers gave their presentation to the minister and the education department senior officials who were present.

"The National Education Policy has to be implemented in the best possible manner for the best future of the students and hence even we are trying to cope with the challenges. We will ensure that the education remains student-centric and try to reduce more than 50% of ‘other than education load' of the teachers," said Bhuse.
Bhuse further appealed to teachers of Marathi medium govt and govt-aided schools to work hard and prove their mettle such that the parents would stand in long queues outside the schools to seek admission for their children in those schools.
"It is the need of the hour to improve the quality of the education in Marathi schools that will lead to an increase in the number of schools and the education department will take note of this and support every teacher who is taking efforts in the direction," he added.
The one-day workshop mainly focused on the important role that academic as well as physical facilities play in the overall progress of students, which included attractive classrooms in proportion to the number of students in the school, drinking water system, separate toilets for boys and girls in proportion to their number, attractive school premises, laboratories, etc.
