Bihar governor Arif Mohammad Khan highlighted the state's achievements during the 76th Republic Day, emphasizing law and order, education, healthcare, and women's empowerment. He mentioned the creation of numerous jobs and extensive infrastructure improvements. The celebrations included a parade and cultural showcases, with various departments being recognized for their contributions.

PATNA: Bihar governor Arif Mohammad Khan unfurled the national flag at the historic Gandhi Maidan in Patna on the occasion of the 76th Republic Day.
In his address to the people of Bihar, the governor stressed the importance of maintaining law and order in the state. He stated, “The govt's top priority is to ensure that the rule of law is upheld and that justice is delivered to all citizens.”
Highlighting the state government's efforts, Khan said, “Bihar govt has emphasised development with justice. Over 8,000 cemeteries were fenced across the state in recent years. Since 2016, boundary walls for temples were also constructed. A large number of teachers were appointed. Nine lakh jobs were provided, and ten lakh employment opportunities were created so far.”
He also noted improvements in urban infrastructure, education, healthcare, and women's empowerment. “The goal of reaching Patna from any corner of the state in six hours was achieved in 2016. Now, extensive construction of bridges and roads has been undertaken to reach the state capital in just five hours. Since 2016, women were given 33% reservation in police services. Today, Bihar has the highest participation of women in the police force in the entire country,” he added.
The celebrations were attended by chief minister Nitish Kumar, deputy CM Samrat Chaudhary, and other ministers and officials. Following the Governor's speech, a vibrant parade showcased Bihar’s cultural heritage. A total of 20 parade contingents and 15 department tableaux participated.
The SSB was awarded the best parade contingent, while the Industries Department's tableau secured first place. The Animal and Fisheries Department and Jeevika's tableau came second, followed by the Sports Department in third place.
