PATNA: The state on Thursday registered 242 new dengue cases, nearly 100 more than what was registered a day before. Among all the districts, Patna had the largest number of new cases registered with 109 people testing positive for dengue.
Munger registered 19 dengue cases, followed by Gaya (17), Bhagalpur (10), Nawada (8), Aurangabad (3), Begusarai (3), Madhubani (3) and Purnia (3).
So far, the tally for dengue cases in Bihar has reached 11461 and there have been total 19 deaths.
When compared to previous day's data, the number of dengue cases has surged in several districts. For instance, on Wednesday, a total of 147 cases were reported from across the state. Out of these, 74 cases were reported in Patna, while 11 from Nalanda and one from West Champaran, but on Thursday both the districts registered 22 cases each.
Five new patients were admitted at different hospitals on Thursday, total 156 patients were undergoing treatment at different health centres across Bihar. However, the report shows no one was in intensive care unit.
