CM briefed about health schemes in Saran
Chhapra: While reviewing the operation of health services in Chhapra on Wednesday, CM Nitish Kumar was briefed about the e-Sanjivani OPD and the functioning of the ‘Hub and Spoke' model for providing treatment in rural areas. Health and wellness centres serve as the Spoke, while primary health centres (PHCs) act as the Hub.
Saran DM Aman Samir informed the CM that under this model, patients who visit sub health centres are assisted by ANMs (auxiliary nurse midwives) and CHOs (community health officers), who connect with a doctor at the Hub via cellphone. The doctor advises the patient on medications, which are then dispensed at the sub health centre. This model allows patients to save both time and travel expenses.
The CM also interacted with beneficiaries of the ‘Bal Hriday Yojna', which is part of his ‘Saat Nischay Yojana'. Under this initiative, children with heart defects (such as holes in the heart) are treated free of charge. He was informed that to date, 12,02,996 beneficiaries have received their ‘Ayushman Card.' Additionally, 4,171 people above the age of 70 have received their ‘Ayushman Card' under the "Ayushman Vay Vandana Scheme."
