Dipankar: State needs govt change
Patna: CPI(ML) general secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya on Sunday called for a change in the state, alleging that people are denied access to CM Nitish Kumar during his Pragati Yatra when they attempt to submit petitions addressing their demands. He urged people to participate in the CPI(ML) mega rally at Gandhi Maidan in Patna on March 9. "The first thing needed in the state is a change of govt," he said.
"When people try to submit their petitions, they are stopped by the police, who also resort to repression. People have the right to live and struggle for their demands with dignity and security," he added. Bhattacharya alleged that poor and marginalised sections are being denied solutions to their problems.
Speaking at the ‘Badlo Bihar Samagam' meeting, Bhattacharya criticised the NDA govt, pointing out that the caste survey revealed 94 lakh families live in extreme poverty. He demanded Rs 2 lakh support for such families, homestead land for the homeless and an end to the special land survey. Bhattacharya also condemned corporate calls for longer work hours and criticised RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and Union home minister Amit Shah for their alleged divisive rhetoric.
