Giriraj slams Kejriwal for ‘fake voters’ comment
Begusarai: Union minister Giriraj Singh on Friday slammed former chief minister of Delhi and AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal for calling people from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh as ‘fake voters'.
While talking to reporters here, the Union minister said Kejriwal was himself a "cheater". "He is the one who cheated Anna Hajare and also the people of Delhi. His comments have brought disrespect and hurt sentiments of people of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and the entire purvanchal area. He is abusing those on whose support he became the chief minister," he said.
Attacking further, Giriraj accused Kejriwal of his involvement in liquor and health scams in Delhi. "He had promised people of Delhi that he would not seek votes if he failed to clean Yamuna before 2025. However, without fulfilling his promise, he is back again," he said, adding people will give him a befitting reply.
Kejriwal had lodged a complaint with the Election Commission on Thursday, where he accused BJP of registering "fake" voters in the New Delhi constituency to manipulate the upcoming Assembly elections. He highlighted a surge in voter registration applications, particularly 13,000 additions between December 15 and January 8, alleging fraudulent practices involving voters from neighbouring states. Addressing the reporters, Kejriwal remarked, "Apparently many of these voters have been brought in from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and other neighbouring states to create fake voter registrations. This manipulation undermines the election process."
