Nine drown in four Bihar districts in past 24 hours

PATNA: At least nine people drowned in four districts in the last 24 hours.
Two girls drowned in a pond at village Sosandi under Rahui police station in Nalanda district during idol immersion on Tuesday. Jyoti Kumari (8) of Frangi Bigaha in Sheikhpura district and Julie Kumari (10), a local resident, were cousins. Sosandi mukhiya Aryan Singh said five girls had gone to immerse the idols when they slipped into the pond.Three were rescued, he said.
Earlier, three people each drowned in Muzaffarpur and Samastipur, besides one in Munger district on Monday. The Muzaffarpur victims were Prince Kumar (18), Abhishek (17) and Shivam (21).
In Samastipur, the three drowned while taking a bath at Sirsi ghat of Ganga.
