Chhattisgarh women's beach handball team wins gold at National Championship

RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh women's beach handball team achieved a significant victory by clinching the gold medal at the Senior National Beach Handball Championship held in Assam from January 10 to 13.
This impressive performance sets a positive tone for their upcoming participation in the 38th National Games in Uttarakhand, scheduled to commence on January 28.
In the championship final, the Chhattisgarh team displayed dominance, defeating Kerala in straight sets with scores of 14-11 and 19-11. This decisive victory showcased the team's skill and determination.
Furthermore, Kanchan Mahanand, a key player for Chhattisgarh, was recognised for her exceptional performance by being awarded the Best Goalkeeper title.
Prior to the final, the team demonstrated their strength by overcoming Haryana in the semi-finals with scores of 13-12 and 15-12, securing their place in the championship match.
Bashir Ahmed Khan, General Secretary of the Chhattisgarh Handball Association, expressed his enthusiasm about this momentous win.
