Chhattisgarh's 287-member team heads to 38th National Games in Uttarakhand

A 287-member contingent from Chhattisgarh will compete in the 38th National Games in Uttarakhand from January 28 to February 14 across various cities. The team includes athletes, coaches, and managers participating in 36 sports categories. State officials extended best wishes, hoping for a successful performance like the previous edition where they secured 25 medals.

RAIPUR: A 287-member contingent from Chhattisgarh will participate in the 38th National Games in Uttarakhand from January 28 to February 14. The Chhattisgarh Olympic Association (CGOA) distributed kits to the athletes representing the state.
The games will feature 34 sports and two exhibition sports, spread across various cities in Uttarakhand, including Dehradun, Haridwar, Shivpur, Rishikesh, and more.
Chhattisgarh will participate in a wide range of sports, including archery, athletics, badminton, basketball, beach handball, boxing, cycling, fencing, gymnastics, and many more. A total of 287 members, comprising 109 male and 114 female athletes, 38 coaches, and 20 managers, will represent the state.
In the previous 37th National Games held in Goa, Chhattisgarh secured 25 medals. The association is optimistic that the state's athletes will continue their winning streak and bring home more laurels from the 38th edition.
Chhattisgarh chief minister Vishnu Deo Sai, who served as the President of the CGOS, and sports minister Tankram Verma extended their best wishes to all the athletes and expressed confidence in their ability to win numerous medals for the state.
The kit distribution ceremony was attended by Dr Vikram Singh Sisodia, Secretary-General of the CGOA, and other officials.
