Cong slams Sai govt with misrule in ‘charge sheet’
Raipur: The opposition Congress in Chhattisgarh issued an ‘Arop Patra' against CM Vishnu Deo Sai administration, claiming that while BJP leaders flourish, citizens endure hardship under this ‘remote controlled' govt.
At the Congress state office in Raipur on Sunday, Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee (CPCC) Chief Deepak Baij and senior party officials presented the allegations document, criticising the govt's decision to halt registration of land plots below 5 decimals.
The party asserts that the state govt's performance over the past year disappointed the public. Various segments of society, including youth, farmers, women, labourers, students, and Scheduled Castes and Tribes, feel let down by the administration.
The OBC groups express dissatisfaction regarding reservation policy errors. Agricultural communities remain discontented, awaiting the promised Rs 3,100 payment and enhanced paddy support price of Rs 112 per quintal, amounting to Rs 3,217 per quintal.
The opposition referenced the Loharidih and Balodabazar incidents, attributing them to administrative shortcomings. They also highlighted failed cataract operations under the Sai govt, drawing parallels with the Raman Singh administration.
The party claims forced religious conversions led to three suicides, causing social unrest. They accuse the govt of employment corruption and failing to deliver on their pledge of 100,000 jobs over five years, with no progress on the promised 20,000 first-year positions.
The allegations include unfulfilled promises of Rs 500 gas cylinders, selective diesel subsidies favouring industrialists, and demolition of poor residents' properties whilst BJP supporters allegedly occupy govt lands illegally.
Congress highlights concerns about illegal substance distribution, inadequate healthcare facilities, educational resource shortages, and housing challenges following the reversal of registry rate concessions. The document outlines multiple electricity tariff increases, escalating construction material costs, termination of contractual staff, discontinuation of welfare schemes, and rising lawlessness across the state.
The opposition criticises the administration's handling of Naxal-related issues, noting increased attacks and the govt's limited response beyond verbal statements.
