RMC launches first govt-backed Innov8 in a tier-2 city

RAIPUR: Raipur Municipal Corporation (RMC) took a significant stride towards fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in Chhattisgarh with the launch of 'Innov8', a state-of-the-art co-working space. This initiative, the first of its kind in a tier-2 city, aims to provide a supportive ecosystem for startups, freelancers, and MSMEs.
Innov8, along with its complementary platform "Aarambh," offers a range of cutting-edge facilities. Aarambh, specifically designed for early-stage ventures, caters to 150+ entrepreneurs with flexible seating, collaborative workspaces, and skill-development programs for women and youth. These programs include mentorship sessions, workshops, and access to high-speed internet, projectors, and video conferencing facilities.
Innov8, on the other hand, caters to more established startups and MSMEs with a capacity of 250+ seats. It boasts high-level infrastructure, including private cabins, meeting rooms, and modern amenities. The space is equipped with high-speed Wi-Fi, cloud storage, and smart screens, fostering a technology-driven environment. Both platforms offer comfortable lounges, cafeterias, and 24/7 security for a conducive and secure work experience.
This initiative is expected to have a substantial impact on the local economy. It aims to support over 100 startups and MSMEs, creating over 2,500 job opportunities. Furthermore, the program will actively encourage and support 50+ women-led startups. By providing training and mentorship to over 10,000 youth and women, Innov8 and Aarambh aim to empower individuals and foster a culture of self-reliance in Chhattisgarh.
The launch of these facilities marks a crucial step towards establishing Chhattisgarh as a hub for innovation and entrepreneurship. According to District Collector Dr Gaurav Singh and RMC Commissioner Abinash Mishra, under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, these co-working spaces will play a vital role in nurturing the state's entrepreneurial spirit.
These facilities are strategically located at Jaistambh Chowk, Bhatagaon inter-state bus terminal, and the Collectorate multi-level parking, making them easily accessible to entrepreneurs and fostering a vibrant and interconnected entrepreneurial community within Raipur.
