Ranchi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) submitted a second supplementary chargesheet at a special court here against two additional suspects involved in strengthening the People's Liberation Front of India (PLFI) across Jharkhand and adjacent states.
The charges were filed on Thursday against Khunti district residents Nilamber Gope and Shiv Kumar Sahu under Section 120B along with 384 of the IPC and sections 13, 17, 18 and 20 of the UA (P) Act.
According to the NIA investigations, both accused were involved in the case RC-04/2023/NIA/RNC. The investigation revealed that PLFI members extorted funds from coal traders, transporters, railway contractors and business owners across Jharkhand, Bihar, Chhattisgarh and Odisha in their bid to strengthen the outlawed group.
The organisation's members also planned terrorist activities, including killings, arson and violent assaults to instil fear amongst the public, particularly targeting business owners and contractors, aiming to strengthen their presence across these states.
The NIA reported that Shiv and Nilamber supported other PLFI members by distributing threat pamphlets, facilitating extorted money transfers through customer service centres and banks, and providing contact details of contractors and business owners involved in development projects in Jharkhand to PLFI operatives.
