RANCHI: State capital Ranchi on Monday took a lead by becoming the first district to kick-off pre-board exams for class 8 students organsied by the
Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC).
The exams, which commenced today, are scheduled to take place on January 20, 21, and 22, with over 22,000 students from govt and minority-aided schools across the district participating.
Deputy commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri, formally inaugurated the exams by distributing the question papers online to designated centres.
He emphasised the importance of such initiatives, stating, “This pre-board exam is a vital step to prepare students for the actual board exams. It provides them with a simulated environment to build confidence and enhance their performance.”
The pre-board exams are conducted on Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) sheets, replicating the format of the official Class 8 board exams scheduled for January 29, 2025. This unique approach aims to familiarise students with the process, giving them a hands-on experience of board-level exams.
Bhajantri encouraged them to strive for excellence. “Study with dedication and determination to achieve your goals. You have the potential to make Ranchi and Jharkhand proud,” he remarked.
The Ranchi district administration has also provided a dedicated WhatsApp helpline number, 9430328080, for addressing student grievances and queries. This initiative is expected to set a precedent for other districts in Jharkhand, raising the bar for academic preparedness across the state.
