L Murugan, who began his two-day visit to Jharkhand on Thursday, conducted a review meeting of ‘aspirational district' development work in Chaibasa (West Singhbhum) on Friday.
The meeting was attended by the district officials besides other stakeholders. The minister inspected the ITI centre operating in Jagannathpur block, the cage culture fish farming centre in Karanjia, and the PM Shri School in the district, informed an official communique from PIB.
During the meeting, he also took stock of work underway in health and nutrition, education, agriculture and water resources, infrastructure, skill development, and financial inclusion among others.
The minister closely examined the status of health facilities in the district, statistics related to malnourished children, TB treatment and management, the condition of anganwadi centres, roads, electricity, water, the number and current status of schools, the condition of self-help groups, the number of Jan Dhan accounts, soil health statistics, and work related to ‘one district one product'.
"He instructed district officials to reduce school dropout rates, conduct awareness programmes to increase the number of beneficiaries under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, promote fish farming, animal husbandry, and dairy production under agriculture and allied activities to increase farmers' income and create more employment. He also emphasized improving self-help group activities and linking them with 'one district one product', added the statement.
He instructed officials for the completion of housing allocation targets for the poor under the PM Awas Yojana and to achieve targets under the Jal Jeevan Mission through swift action, it added.
