THANE: The Shil-Daighar police in Thane registered a criminal case against a teacher from a Bangalore madrasa for allegedly sodomising a 10-year-old student.
According to an officer at the Shil-Daighar police station in Thane city, the First Information Report (FIR) was registered on Tuesday, following a complaint from the victim's mother. The boy is a resident of the vicinity and went to the madrasa for studies.
The complaint alleges that between August 2024 and January 2025, the accused took the victim to a guest room on the third floor of the madrasa during classes and sexually assaulted him.
The accused allegedly threatened to kill the victim and his father if the incidents were reported to anyone, the police said, quoting the complaint.
The victim eventually disclosed the ordeal to his parents, who then approached the police. The Shil-Daighar police registered an offence under the provisions of Rape of the BNS and other relevant sections of POCSO against the alleged accused.
The police said they transferred the case to the respective police station in
Karnataka for further investigations while the accused is a 22-year-old teacher.
