Junior artist held in BSc student attack case

Visakhapatnam: The Srikakulam district police arrested a man working as a junior artist in movies, identified as K Jagadeesh, in the case related to the attack on a final year BSc girl student.
It may be recalled that a final year BSc student of Govt Degree College for Women, Srikakulam, was attacked by an unidentified person within the hostel premises on Jan 30. The victim was found unconscious by her hostel mates and was rushed to govt general hospital for treatment.
Srikakulam superintendent of police (SP) KV Maheswara Reddy said that the acused and the victim were previously acquainted. On Saturday, Jagadeesh dropped the victim at the hostel and proposed to marry her. Upon her refusal, he reportedly assaulted her with his bare hands.
