Assembly elections 2023: BJP workers perform puja ahead of counting in Tripura

Elections were held in Tripura on February 16 in a single phase and the results are being declared on March 2. The hard fought elections saw a pitched battle between the ruling BJP and the opposition Communist Party of India [Marxist] CPM. In 2023, the BJP also faces a challenge from Tipraha Indigenous Progressive Regional Alliance (TIPRA), headed by Pradyot Bikram Manikya Deb Barman. Will the BJP, under the leadership of chief minister Manik Saha, retain its grip on power or can CPM, which ruled the northeastern state for 25 years, stage a comeback. Or will it be Tipra Motha Party that can upset the numbers in this election. Here's what the results show.
