SRINAGAR: National Conference’s
Omar Abdullah on Thursday filed his nomination papers for J&K’s Baramulla, pitting himself against People’s Conference’s Sajad Lone. PDP’s Mir Fayaz too filed his papers from the seat the same day.
The entry of former J&K MLA Engineer Rashid, lodged in Delhi's Tihar Jail, as an independent candidate in the poll fray has spiced up the Baramulla contest as, sources said, Rashid has entered into a tacit understanding with Lone to dent Omar’s prospects.
PDP had failed terribly in the 2019 LS polls in Baramulla.
