The festive atmosphere of the
Durga Puja season has enveloped Kolkata, starting with the auspicious Mahalaya. Everywhere you look, the streets and alleys of this vibrant city shimmer with the distinctive
Puja glow, reflecting its cultural richness. This festive time witnessed a surge in the engagements of celebrities. Many become the face of various Pujas, while others grace the pandals as esteemed guests.
Among them, the renowned actress
Aparajita Adhya was a notable presence.
Despite her hectic schedule,
Aparajita took time to visit the pandal in her locality in Behala. As she stepped into the pandal, waves of nostalgia hit her, bringing back cherished memories. “Interestingly, I hold a deep connection with the Durga Puja in my para. Along with my friends, I had started this Puja long back. Over the years, this particular Puja, managed by the Behala Chowrasta Jagarani Club, has grown in stature and I feel so proud to see this growth. Today, it stands tall, rivaling even the most famous theme pujas of Kolkata,” a nostalgic Aparajita shared with ETimes.
The theme of this year's puja particularly caught Aparajita's attention. “The theme is quite interesting. It delves into the origins of Nandalal Basu’s paintings in Sahaj Path. The brilliant artist Raju is the main man behind the decorations. Raju's work has truly captivated me. Currently, they are embellishing the floor with a picture of the legendary
Rabindranath Tagore. Every year, I find myself in a playful tussle with the artists regarding the decor, but this year, everything seems just right. After all, we were the ones who started this Puja."
Aparajita plans to celebrate this puja with full gusto despite her busy schedule and the judging pandals. She doesn’t want to plan too much, instead, the actress just wants to enjoy the festivities.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Aparajita Adhya who was last seen in the film ‘Cheeni 2’, will be seen in an important role in
Dhrubo Banerjee’s upcoming comedy film ‘Bogla Mama Jug Jug Jio’.
